• Toulon, the most beautiful harbor in Europe

  Bordered by high limestone hills topped with umbrella pines, the Bay of Toulon is reputedly one of Europe's finest natural harbor. Used by Greek and Roman vessels, the bay of Toulon is the first military place in France. But Toulon is also a typical Mediterranean city with its bustling and colorful old town, the “lower town” as they say in Toulon, with narrow streets and squares shaded by plane trees, refreshed by beautiful fountains. Its Provençal market located on the Cours Lafayette, sung by Gilbert Becaud is a joy for the eyes and nose.
